Remember to register for the focus module “<strong>How to Do Things with Corpora</strong>” that will be taught by Prof. Dr. Angelika Zirker at the University of Tübingen (eligible also for the DH special profile) to learn about different approaches to corpora and to get involved practically in conducting close and distant readings digitally as well as compiling collections of texts. The course will take place on <strong>Mondays from 10-12 c.t., starting April 24, 2023</strong>.<br>

You may want to contribute to the <strong>FORGE conference</strong> (Forschungsdaten in den Geisteswissenschaften) that will be hosted on site at the University of Tübingen (DH Centre and DAASI International) from October 4-6, 2023, with the title “Anything goes?! Forschungsdaten in den Geisteswissenschaften - kritisch betrachtet.” There are three possibilities of contribution: proposal for a workshop, proposal for a talk and proposal for a poster. Topic suggestions as well as requirements are online <a href="https://forge23.uni-tuebingen.de/">here</a>. You can submit your <strong>abstracts until April 28, 2023</strong>.<br>

The ACL Special Interest Group for Annotation (SIGANN) is inviting papers for the <strong>17<sup>th</sup> Linguistic Annotation Workshop</strong> (LAW XVII) on July 13, 2023, in Toronto. Papers may cover aspects of ethics related to annotation, crowd-sourcing, and beyond, since the special theme of the workshop is “Ethics and Annotation”. <strong>Submission deadline is April 7, 2023</strong>. For the hybrid from <strong>CLARIN Conference 2023</strong> (taking place in the historic city of Leuven, Belgium, at the heritage campus of the Irish College, but also fully accessible online), a call for papers has been issued on the use of the CLARIN infrastructure, i.e. usability, evaluations, user identification, relevant research projects, and teaching and learning cases using CLARIN resources and services. The Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF) at the Bielefeld University is pleased to announce their call for papers for their <strong>interdisciplinary conference “Navigating Uncertainty</strong>: Preparing Society for the Future” which will take place from June 5-7, 2023. Submissions on, for instance, measuring and identifying uncertainty in societies, its effect on individual and collective beliefs and actions, and beyond, will be accepted <strong>until March 15, 2023</strong>. You can now submit contributions to the online Papyri Conference “<strong>Perceptions of Writing in Papyri. Crossing Close and Distant Readings</strong>” from December 7-8, 2023. The TH Köln is offering a unique course on <strong>research data management</strong> with the aim of awarding a <strong>certificate</strong>. The course takes place over the course of 10 months (extra occupational) starting on September 1, 2023. The course is aimed at employees from science-related infrastructures and research. In the context of their long-term project Formulae – Litterae – Chartae, the Academy of Sciences in Hamburg is offering a <strong>summer school on digital ecdotic</strong> from July 11-14, 2023. The main focus of the summer school lies on digital tools and techniques for editing historical texts and documents and gives a chance to learn about the theory of editing as well as practical implementation. Hosted by the ACL Special Interest Group on Annotation (SIGANN), the 17<sup>th</sup> <strong>Linguistic Annotation Workshop</strong> will take place on July 13, 2023, together with ACL 2023 in Toronto. The workshop provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of innovative research on all aspects of linguistic annotation, including the creation and evaluation of annotation schemes, methods for automatic and manual annotation, use and evaluation of annotation software and frameworks, representation of linguistic data and annotations, semi-supervised “human in the loop” methods of annotation, crowd-sourcing approaches, and more.
