As the summer term gradually comes to a close, the students involved in the <em>Annotating Literature</em> project are busily writing their annotations. The <em>Chimes</em> group has produced some finished annotations. While one explains why Toby “Trotty” Veck’s harsh working routine is compared to “red-letter days”, another explores the meaning of Will Fern’s coming “up to London” in its historical context and its interpretation of Fern’s character.<br>

The call for papers for the New Technologies and Renaissance Studies panels at the Renaissance Society of America (RSA) annual meeting in San Juan (9-11 March 2023) is currently open <strong>until July 31</strong>, 2022. They welcome proposals for papers and roundtables on new technologies and their impact on research, teaching, publishing, and beyond, in the context of Renaissance Studies. <a href="https://www.rsa.org/page/ConferenceSubmissionsGuide#proposalcomponents">Here</a> is where you can gather all necessary details about the conference.<br>

The University of Kent will be hosting the European Society for Textual Scholarship’s 18th annual conference on <strong>April 13-14, 2023. </strong>The conference on ‘Authorship, Identity, and Textual Scholarship’ will be held in person in Canterbury at the University of Kent campus and Canterbury Cathedral Archives and Library. Proposals are invited from researchers working on subjects ranging from antiquity to modern day and may be creative as well as critical or analytical contributions to panel and roundtable sessions.
