Matthias Bauer and Angelika Zirker recently published “<a href="https://www.connotations.de/article/bauer-zirker-understanding-though-annotations-introductory-remarks/">Understanding (Through) Annotations: Introductory Remarks</a>.” The article serves as introduction for a special issue of <em>Connotations – A Journal Critical Debate, </em>which is based on papers given at the 15th International <em>Connotations</em> Symposium, July 28 – August 1, 2019.<br>

Due to the Corona crisis, this event will possibly be held as a virtual workshop. The deadline is <strong>June 29, 2020</strong>.<br>

Call for papers for the 5th Workshop on Visualization for the Digital Humanities, (<a href="http://vis4dh.dbvis.de/">VIS4DH</a>), under the theme of “Re-Thinking, Re-Defining, Re-Imagining Data”. The workshop will be part of IEEE VIS 2020 conference. Paper submissions should be in PDF format following the <a href="http://junctionpublishing.org/vgtc/Tasks/camera.html">conference style template</a>. <strong>Deadline</strong> for papers is <strong>July 10, 2020</strong>, and should be submitted via <a href="https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=vis4dh0">EasyChair</a>.<br>

Call for papers for the Conference on Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing on November 19, 2020. All submissions must be written in English and should follow the <a href="https://2020.emnlp.org/call-for-papers">EMNLP 2020 formatting requirements</a>. Submission can be uploaded using the <a href="https://www.softconf.com/emnlp2020/sdp2020/">Softconf START conference management system</a>. <strong>Deadline</strong> for submissions is <strong>August 15, 2020</strong>. You can still sign up for the <strong>1st Workshop on Scholarly Document Processing</strong> (SDP 2020) to be held in conjunction with the 2020 EMNLP Conference. The workshop will be held VIRTUALLY.<br>

EADH regretfully announces the cancellation of <strong>EADH2020 conference</strong>, which was scheduled for <strong>September 22-25, 2020</strong>.<br>
