TEASYS – NEWS

In the summer term, Prof. Zirker, Tübingen University, will be  
offering a course on “Digital Methods in Literary Studies“ (alma  
sign-up begins March 1 to March 21, 2022). The class will be concerned  
with questions that shape the discourse on digital methods, such as  
how digital tools can facilitate and support the teaching of literary  
texts as well as what advantages (and disadvantages) the application  
of digital methods yields in the field of literary studies. For a full

The Annotated Web Edition Directory[2] is looking forward to your  
suggestions. We are always on the look-out for new entries to add to  
the list. Feel free to recommend literary digital editions that  
include explanatory annotation (of the social or the editorial kind),  
web platforms, tools and applications that enable the user to  
(collaboratively) annotate texts. Please use the corresponding form on  
our webpage. We thank you for your help.

CALLS FOR PAPERS
 
MLA call for papers from the Committee for Scholarly Editing for their  
conference on “Innovative Approaches to Editions and Edition Building  
in the Classroom”. The DEADLINE for submissions is MARCH 25, 2022. For  
more information, please follow the link[3].
 
Proposals are now being accepted for presentations at the Digital  
Humanities Summer Institute (DHSI) 2022 Online Edition Conference and  
Colloquium[4]. Please submit proposals BY APRIL 4, 2022, through this  
online submission form[5].
 
Paper submissions for Balisage 2022 are DUE ON APRIL 8, 2022. Please  
click on the link for the full CFP[6]. If you simply wish to register,  
please follow this link[6].
 
The call for proposals is now open for the Digital Humanities and Book  
History conference. The (hybrid) event will take place from September  
22-24, 2022. The DEADLINE for submissions is APRIL 22, 2022. More  
information and the full CFP can be found on the conference website[7].
 
The 3rd Panel on Humor and Artificial Intelligence at HIS 2022 is  
soliciting abstracts on computer-based analysis and processing of  
verbal and non-verbal humor. The deadline for submitting abstracts[8]  
of a maximum of 250 words is MAY 2, 2022.
 
Call for papers for the special issue of the Journal of the Digital  
Humanities Association of Southern Africa: Crossroads Digital  
Humanities. Submissions have to be made directly via the journal  
website[9].  Submission DEADLINE is MAY 15, 2022. For the full CFP,

UPDATES

Details of DHSI 2022 Online Edition (6-10 June) workshops and events  
are now available at dhsi.org[11], and registration has opened!
This year’s Helsinki Digital Humanities Hackathon[12] (#DHH22) will be  
held from May 11-20, 2022. Participation is free to all accepted  
participants. The application period is from March 14 to April 6, 2022.

  JOBS AND GRANTS

The Leibniz-Institut für Deutsche Sprache (IDS) in Mannheim is hiring  
a research assistant as PhD candidate in the field of grammatic  
resources starting March 1, 2022 on. More information can be found  
here[13].
The project “PDB18 – Portal des deutschen Briefes im 18. Jahrhundert“  
funded by the DFG at the university library (ULB) of the Technische  
Universität Darmstadt is offering a job as project assistant (50%).
