TEASYS – NEWS
Angelika Zirker and Sabine Bartsch are offering a Workshop and Panel
at the Anglistentag 2019 (September 22-29, 2019, University of
Leipzig) with the title “The Digital in Research-Oriented Teaching:
Interdisciplinary Exchange.” Proposals for poster presentations of
concepts and experiences with digital teaching formats (abstract of
approx. 300-500 words) can be submitted until MAY 31, 2019. For more

The universities of Tübingen and Stuttgart offer a joint lecture
series on text comprehension in the field of (computer) linguistics,
digital literary studies, psychology, and rhetoric. You can watch it
here[2].
Furthermore, the “Annotating Literature Peer Learning Project” is
currently looking for new members for the Annotating Literature Peer
Learning Groups that meet once a week to discuss literary texts, such
as Dickens’ “The Chimes,” Beaumont and Fletcher’s /The Knight of the
Burning Pestle/, Twain’s /The Prince and the Pauper/ or a selection of
all kinds of poems from Chaucer to Rupi Kaur. If you are interested in

The Annotated Web Edition Directory[3] is looking forward to your
suggestions. We are always on the look-out for new entries to add to
the list. Feel free to recommend literary digital editions that
include explanatory annotation (of the social or the editorial kind),
web platforms, tools and applications that enable the user to
(collaboratively) annotate texts. Please use the corresponding form on

CALLS FOR PAPERS/UPCOMING EVENTS
This summer term, the University of Hamburg is offering a public
lecture on “Open knowledge in the heritage sector: Reflecting
dissemination, interpretation & accessibility of knowledge[4]”.
Submissions for workshops and tutorial proposals for the 15th KONVENS
“Bridging the gap between NLP and human understanding”[5] (October
9-11, 2019, Erlangen, Germany) are due MAY 26, 2019.
Proposals for posters are due MAY 31, 2019 for the panel on “The
Digital in Research-Oriented Teaching: Interdisciplinary Exchange[1]”
at the Anglistentag 2019 (September 22-25, 2019, Leipzig).
Call for Papers for the Sixteenth Annual Conference of the European
Society for Textual Scholarship (ESTS 2019), which will be held at the
University of Málaga (Spain) ON NOVEMBER 28 - 29, 2019. This year's
theme for the conference will be: “Textual Scholarship in the 21st
Century.” Deadline for submission is MAY 31, 2019. For more

Call for articles: Submissions for de Gruyter’s /Open Theology/ with a
focus on "Digital Humanities in Biblical Studies and Theology"[7] are
due MAY 31, 2019.
Reviews of digital tools and environments for the journal /RIDE/ are
due MAY 31, 2019. For more information please see[8].
Submissions are DUE JUNE 30, 2019 for a special issue[9] of the open
access journal /Informatics/ titled "Uncertainty in Digital Humanities."
Submissions are due JUNE 30, 2019 for the conference on “Research and
Education in Urban History in the Age of Digital Libraries & Digital
Encounters with Cultural Heritage”[10] (October 10-11, 2019, Dresden).
Call for papers for a conference 2018 issue (13) of the JTEI. Any
articles connected with papers, posters, demonstrations delivered
during the conference can be handed in. Submissions are due JUNE 1,

Submissions are due SEPTEMBER 16, 2019 for the 7th annual DHd
conference on “Spielräume – Digital Humanities zwischen Modellierung
und Interpretation“[12] (March 2-6, 2020, Paderborn, Germany).
Routledge launches a NEW BOOK SERIES, Routledge Studies in
Archives[13], edited by James Lowry and ACCEPTING PROPOSALS related to
current research in records and archives studies.

SUMMER SCHOOLS
The 10th European Summer University in Digital Humanities[15] will
take place from 23 July to 2 August, 2019 in Leipzig. Take a look at
the programme and courses here[16].
Registrations for the 13. Trierer Summer School on Social Network
Analysis[17] (September 16-21, 2019, Trier, Germany) are OPEN NOW. The
deadline is July 31.

The DHSI 2019 Conference & Colloquium SCHEDULE can now be accessed via
the DHSI website[18]!
REGISTRATION is OPEN for the Humanities Intensive Learning and
Teaching[19] (HILT) conference in Indianapolis from JUNE 3-7, 2019.
The DCMI Annual Conference[20] in 2019 will be hosted by the Korean
National Library in Seoul from SEPTEMBER 23-26, 2019. Further details
and the call for participation[21] are now online!
Registration[22] for the 2019 Electronic Literature Organization
Conference & Media Arts Festival is OPEN.
The EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION Date for the Digital Pedagogy Institute
Conference[23] was EXTENDED UNTIL MAY 31, 2019.

JOBS/SCHOLARSHIPS
The fellowship program for Digital Scholarship at Leiden (sponsored by
Elsevier) is looking for international researchers who would like to
study the vast digital collections at Leiden University Libraries and
to collaborate with the Centre for Digital Scholarship (CDS) at Leiden
University. For more information please visit the University’s
website[24]. The deadline is MAY 19, 2019.
The Herzog August Library Wolfenbüttel (Germany) is looking for a
research fellow[25] who helps coordinate the fusion of CLARIN-D and
DARIAH-DE. The deadline is MAY 19, 2019.
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar (Germany) is looking for a head of their
Digital Lab[26]. The deadline is MAY 19, 2019.
The Institut für Deutsche Sprache (Mannheim) is hiring a research
fellow[27] for its new project „QUEST — Quality Established: Erprobung
und Anwendung von Kurationskriterien und Qualitätsstandards für
audiovisuelle, annotierte Sprachdaten“. The deadline is MAY 22, 2019.
The University of Reading is looking for a qualified archivist who
will be responsible for cataloguing and digitising publishing material
from the Archive of British Printing and Publishing. For the full job
